Away from the harshness of daylight, promises are made, bodies come together, words are spoken that can never be taken back -- and the creative process thrives.

Debuted in 2005, moonShine review is more than a journal of prose and photography. It is about what speaks to you in the moonlight and it is about the shadows cast in mind and memory.

moonShine review Submission Guidelines

NOTE: These submission guidelines have been updated as of November, 2007. Please review the prose guidelines carefully!

Anne Hicks, editor of moonShine review, at a release party.

moonShine review publishes short fiction, flash fiction, and creative non-fiction. We publish work from anywhere, but preference is given to artists from Charlotte, NC, and the Southeast.

Our goal is to bring about understanding through art and writing by providing a venue for unique voices. We are interested in work that conveys an honest and individual perspective.

We work on one issue at a time, and read submissions ONLY after the deadlines in the Spring and Fall. Deadlines are March 1st and September 1st of each year. (Submissions accepted year round.)

Acceptances will be notified by email (preferred method) or via an SASE. Submissions will not be returned unless requested and SASE with proper postage is provided.

All submissions should be mailed to:

THRIFT Press
